      Hi Raquel:
For toddlers I think the most important thing is good hand washing and face washing. I know we hear this over and over again but it really is true! I think in the Fall and Winter we are all going to have to avoid OMSI and other “germ factories”. Here is Portland, I think the Children’s Museum is the worst in terms of lack of cleanliness and germs.

If you would like to give some immune tonics I would recommend a pediatric tincture based in glycerin from your local Whole Foods/ New Seasons/ Co-op Grocery. I use Planetary Herbals formula with echinacea and goldenroot for prevention. When I see first signs of any cold I use the children’s wellness formula which has Yin Qiao (a chinese formula that clears wind-heat) combined with some Western herbs. I give three whole dropperfuls 3 times a day when they are sick.

I also find with my children that they tend to get sick when we run out of vitamins. I like Nordic Naturals nordic berries. They are delicious and now formulated with more natural sugars. If you haven’t tried the DHA Junior fish oils from that company, I would also recommend them. My kids loves them and beg for them 😉

      Hope that helps.
